Areas of Practice

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

The protection of IP is vital to fostering innovation. Without protection of their ideas, businesses and individuals would not be able to reap the full benefits of their inventions. That is where  DTL comes in to provide you with the professional advice and help you need.

COPYRIGHT

Original work is automatically under copyright protection the moment it is created; however, copyright registration is a good thing to have as it acts as a deterrent for someone who might be tempted to copy your original work.

TRADEMARKS AND SERVICE MARKS

A trademark or service mark includes any name, word, symbol, device, logo, color (alone or in any combination) that is used (or intended to be used) to distinguish and identify the goods or services of one seller from those of other sellers.

PATENTS

Natural laws, physical phenomena, and abstract ideas cannot be patented. A patent can be granted for a new machine, manufacture, etc., but not for the idea or suggestion of such. Obtaining a patent can be quite complex, and it’s advisable not to try to handle it yourself.

“We must all obey the great law of change. It is the most powerful law of nature.”
